My Literature degree (which is pretty much useless apart from making me more susceptible to poor English) caused me to cringe at every translation blunder I came across, but it wasn't enough to deter me from enjoying this world that I so longed to visit, so I kept plugging onward. The problem with the game was the piss-poor translation. The combat felt fluid and reminded me of my days playing FF XI, WoW, or just about any other MMO out there. The character portraits during dialogue sections were spot on and the character models felt right. I began playing it and I was instantly absorbed into the world of SAO. Once it dropped for American digital I snagged it up.
Even before watching the show I had been following this game with lukewarm interest (let's face it: it's not difficult to know of every potential American release for the Vita and beggars can't be choosers). I really fell in love with the first story arc and to be honest, I did not mind the second one so much after the conclusion had been reached. I recently began watching the Sword Art Online series on the recommendation of a friend.
